  • Welcome to Material Girls Quilt Shoppe
    We thank you for taking time to visit our website! Our store front shoppe is located in the Historic Delano District in Wichita Kansas and we are proud to offer complete lines of bold, fun new fabrics, as well as a huge variety of beautiful 100% cotton traditional fabrics. We also have classes for everyone! Come and see us today and check out our beautiful new shoppe with 3000 square feet of fabrics and more; or sit in one of our comfy chairs and share a cup of coffee with a friend. We are pleased to share our passion for quilting with you and we look forward to meeting each of you!

  • Tamera's Hat's and Pillows
    Tamara Gonzales is allowing us to sell, in our shoppe for her, the beautiful crochet work she masters, in hats and also decorative pillows. She does many color combinations in hats with small bills or hats with ear flaps for aduts & children sizes. These are very popular with the young people. Her pillows are truly pieces of art, but yet very usable! She also will take special orders for the hats.

  • Michael Miller's - Aqua & Greys
    Brand new is a collection from Michael Miller in aqua & grey with an animal print, dots, stripe, and various others that would make a precious baby quilt...like the one Jo is making for her grandson. It is a very soft color palette that could be made for boys or girls.

  • Cuddle Fabric
    If you have not been in to see our huge selection of cuddle fabrics, cube kits, cuddle critters and applique cuddle kits....well you simply must. It is the best (maybe the only) collection in town with prints of trucks, cows, girl monkeys, pirate monkeys, flowers, cows on pink, dots, stripes, whales, dino's, lucious colors of oranges, blues, reds, greens, golds, turquoises, purples, pinks, and grays. We also have our new Marbella Collections plus Shaggys made into scarf kits. You really must fondle these fabrics from Shannon Fabrics to get the complete picture.

  • Art Gallery - Bazaar
    We absolutely fell in love with these fabrics at Market,,,amazing prints in teals and purples. Easy to mix & match them to create your own quilt; be sure to come see the combination Jo came up with for our Shoppe sample.

  • We Invite You to Try a Quilting Class!
    Remember to check our Quilting Classes, we have new classes starting all the time. We have several wonderful instructors who are teaching various classes, including beginner classes, a class on a beautiful paper piecing pattern called Island Sunrise, a really cute bag class! But, if you don't see a class you want to take; keep checking to see what else we will have to offer. Also if you have any requests for a class, send us an email and we will check into the possibility of it!

We are proud to say we have been sharing our love of quilting with all of you now for one year in the Historic Delano District in Wichita. Each of us "material girls" truly enjoy helping you find the perfect fabrics and color combinations for your projects and especially enjoy it when you bring your finished quilts and creations back in to "show & share" with us! We are blessed to have friendly, helpful, creative, fun staff as well as some of the newest, colorful, modern, traditional & now some civil war fabrics with a great variety of selections from the best designers. We can help you with your book & pattern choices or your notion needs and if we don't have it in the shoppe, we will try to order it.

Along with our 5,000 bolts of fabric, we have convenient front and back door parking, coffee to drink while you are browsing and a sitting area for you (or your spouse) to relax and enjoy. Be sure to check out our class schedule as we add classes and teachers regularly with our most popular ones being the beginner classes.

WICHITA - Jan Munroe started quilting 28 years ago and has been an employee in quilt shops almost as long.

At the first one she worked at in 1982, Munroe says she used to always tell the owner her dream was to one day have a shop.
