Us two "Material Girls", Jo & Jan, are sisters-in-law and have been for 30 years... although we feel more like sisters! Jan learned quilting from her mom, Norma and her grandmother, Mildred and has been quilting for 29 years (and if you don't know... she is very good at it!). Actually, Jan's great grandmother was also a quilter AND her great, great grandmother was a professional dressmaker; so you might even say Jan inherited her sewing talents! She has worked in the quilting business for 28 years and has taught a number of classes throughout those years and loves what she does and the people she has met along the way. Jo only started quilting 2 years ago, and learned from Jan and her mom, Norma and continues to learn from them daily!Jo became interested and inspired when she saw the quilt that was made to raise money for the Kyrie Foundation, caught the "quilting bug" and has made 26 quilts now (and counting) and LOVES it!
We decided to follow Jan's dream of owning her own quilt shop and are pleased to say it all came together like a dream! We both agree that our business is not just about fabulous fabrics, but it's about the people! It's about all the amazing quilters (beginners & expert) of our community; the bonds we have; the friendships developed; inspiring each other; sharing of projects; belonging to a group with fun girls; and providing encouragement to each other along the journey. We simply want to provide the place, the friendly, enthusiastic staff, the experienced teachers AND plenty of fabulous fabrics!
